Db autobackuper possibility to backup data without appearance settings
I would like to see for Db autobackuper possibility to backup data without appearance settings Miranda NG: it would be easier to change skins for the program.
1 voteThis is not simply possible as db_autobackups copies whole profile file, it does not extract settings separately.
Perhaps you might use RPS (RemovePersonalSettings) plugin where you can set what should be deleted from DB and then with one click delete such data. With combination of exporting manually appearance settings via DbEditor++ and importing it e.g. automatically via autoexec_*.ini (see mirandaboot.ini) at starup or manually later.
Also, watcher is using some method for changing skins on the fly – with use of MirLua (or previously ActMan). You can ask on our forums for more info.

universal text chat encryption for all networks
I know there is a OTR with GPG etc but is there a way to have a secure chat connection to every standart networks that miranda have with out the other side needs a miranda client to get it work. For example by encrypted keyword that encrypts a chats dialogs, tunelling or browser plugin something like this? it would be a one more cool feature in miranda

You can’t have encryption only on one side. You need both clients to support such feature.

please add SkypeClassic group chat, if that is possible.
Earlier I have never used skype group chat, but recently I had to do it. And I couldn't find how. There was something about special plugin for it. But I suppose this is related to SkypeKit. So, please, help

Cloud profile synchronisation
I'd like to keep my Profile in sync on multiple devices. As of now I am doing this manually. There's an interesting feature in Notepad++ that checks for installed cloud sync software and copies its configuration into a folder that is being synced.

Mobile Version for Android Smartphones
Android Support for Miranda NG to use it on smartphones/tablets (no desktop remote!)

imoproxy plugin (Skype) for Miranda NG in combination with Skype Classic
I needed imoproxy plugin from original Miranda if possible, in combination with Skype Classic plugin because Skypekit is dead unfortunately.

You should use alternative plugin like MirOTR or SecureIM plugins. There is no need for another one.

Voice and even video conversations over Skype
Skype has become an ugly bloatware, everyone knows. It takes up to 100 MB memory for only chatting, let alone multimedia communication. It would be great if we could use Miranda to have a full functionality with our Skype account. As far as I know, SkypeKit supports this, there are other IM cients that use SkypeKit and are able to perform voice and video calls.

make the updater skip the UAC question like CCleaner does (W7 and up).
Piriform did this to their CCleaner. Once installed under admin account, it always allows ccleaner to run with admin rights.
background: i've installed miranda under c:\ and M$ only allows admins to write on the systempartition.
and remember: its only a suggestion, don't blame me with: choose an other drive or similar
7 votesWhen installing CCleaner (with admin privileges) it creates a scheduled task named “CCleanerSkipUAC” and this way it bypases that later UAC question. Looks like it starts it with admin privileges every time.
As Wishmaster said in comments, Miranda requires admin privileges only for updating so it doesn’t make sense to force it to run always as administrator.
Also Miranda tries to be “portable” – doesn’t write (almost) anything into registry, installing is (almost) only unpacking.
So this won’t be done in Miranda. But you should be able to do similar trick like CCleaner manually. You’ll surely find solution on Google.

Miranda NG as a Web Feature and/or design for Linux.
Miranda NG for a linux platform or/and Miranda NG as a Interface system for the browser with support the miranda database and most wanted plugins (such like trillian)
9 votesNative Linux/Mac version is not possible (requires rewriting whole Miranda), so I’m closing this.
But I’m thinking about creating a plugin for remote access/control of running Miranda over http protocol. Similar to Foobar2000’s httpserver component. Feel free to vote on that feature request if you like ( http://miranda-ng.uservoice.com/forums/250387-general/suggestions/6133785-remote-controlling-of-miranda ).

that plugin is rather old, but it worked for me and some friends on miranda.
maybe you could be able to reaktivate that plugin and make it better and more secure than skype.... ;-D0 votesSadly it’s freeware and without source code available. If you can manage to contact author and get the sources, then we can adopt it for NG. But without it it’s impossible.

Create an non-techical user distro with encryption #ResetTheNet
In support of the #ResetTheNet movement, create a ready to use distro for users without the knowledge to operate Miranda in all its depth. With an amiable UI skin, and the most common protocols and encryption enabled where possible.
To enforece the understanding of the tap-susceptible protocols, display a red "!" on the icons of such protocols.

But perhaps if someone (you?) will prepare it and keep “maintaining” it, we can be publishing it officially under Miranda NG project.

I still don't know whether to move to Miranda NG, or use the old Miranda IM.
