Enable inserting a new line after Nickname in message log
With this feature, we can make messages in multiple lines nice indented.
Today in message window, the first line is right behind the timestamp-nickname, while the other lines are differently indented.
I suggest introduce %l as a new line placehold.
The documentation is over here.

Okay, added in http://trac.miranda-ng.org/changeset/16070 (it looks really, really awful)

It doesn't indent the 3rd line? Are you sure?
Well, most of group chat was designed for IRC, where people use only one-line message and a linebreak would waste space.
However, an option for linebreak might be added... :)
Could you make a feature request on the following link please, to make sure it doesn't get lost here?

Please make sure that you talk about group chats.

@Wishmaster,
Frankly indenting the second line is kind of bad design...
It doesn't indent the 3rd line, and it wastes more space than inserting a line break after the nickname...As this is just user defined, wasting space doesn't matter.
Breaking line after nickname makes the conversation look tidy. -

Well, it seems that there was a missunderstanding, you didn't mention group chats so I assumed you were referring to single chats.
For group chats it isn't possible indeed, it seems. It's propably because it wastes quite some space.
There is an option (In Miranda NG options -> Message sessions -> Group chats -> General): "Indent the second line of a message", does that do what you want?

@Wishmaster,
Thanks for the reply.
What I'm confused is, the actual behavior of log option is not identical to the wiki.In Miranda NG options -> Message sessions -> Group chats -> Chat log,
'Your name' and 'Other name' are defaultly '%n'. And we see nickname in message window instead of a line break.
According to the wiki, %n means a line break while %N means the nickname.The behavior is identical to the wiki of title_bar_formatting, so I pasted that link.

What you posted is for the title bar, where multiline doesn't make sense.
What you want is possible, read http://wiki.miranda-ng.org/index.php?title=Plugin:TabSRMM/en/Templates
