  1. Bitmessage support

    https://bitmessage.org/wiki/Main_Page

Bitmessage is a P2P communications protocol used to send encrypted messages to another person or to many subscribers. It is decentralized and trustless, meaning that you need-not inherently trust any entities like root certificate authorities. It uses strong authentication which means that the sender of a message cannot be spoofed, and it aims to hide "non-content" data, like the sender and receiver of messages, from passive eavesdroppers like those running warrantless wiretapping programs

  4. Support for OverWolf in-game UI

They already have apps for Skype, Steam, etc.

It would be great to have support for Miranda NG too.

  5. A plugin for speaking events outloud

Miranda IM offered a few plugins for speech synthesizers to speak most of the events happening in Miranda such as Status changes or incoming messages.
In Miranda NG we had an attempt of somebody adopting the old Winterspeak plugin, but it didn't work all that well and the developer seems to have abandoned his work.
My suggestion would be to go for adopting and further tweaking Pescuma's Mespeak plugin as under Miranda IM this was the most reliable solution.
Apart from being stable and working all the time, the plugin offered Espeak, an opensource speech synthesizer as one of the…

  6. Support for Lync

Either via Pidgin-sipe or a standalone plugin.
I saw the request on the sipe plugin SF ( http://sourceforge.net/p/sipe/feature-requests/60/ ), but that was a long time ago and there was no progress since then.

  7. support matrix.org, there's a bright future about that, i believe :)

Matrix is an ambitious new open standard for open, distributed, real-time communication over IP. It defines interoperable Instant Messaging and VoIP, providing pragmatic HTTP APIs and open source reference implementations for creating and running your own real-time communication infrastructure.

just try their web version or clients.
good community and nice developers :)

  8. Support for HIDPI screens

Because on the market appeared and will appear more screens with resolution higher then 1080p like QHD+ , Miranda started to have problem with scaling on that kind of screens. You can disable scaling in Windows settings, but then all windows and icons are blurry, so it's not very usefull.

  14. Function/plugin for exporting Facebook history to Miranda

I think it should't be so hard to make it.
In Miranda I load the backup file from facebook (whole archive or only messages.html) and Miranda this history convert to own database. But much better would be one click operation. However, even the simplest version of this function would be wonderful.

In development builds there is now contact menu item “Load history”. It loads all the messages from server into your Miranda.

It works pretty well already, but I still have some more ideas for improvement.

  17. WhatsApp-Support over notification API / Relay Android App

As I guess completely supporting WhatsApp natively or also WhatsApp web is really hard, I guess it could be easily done to make an Android-app that uses the notification handling API in order to transmit messages and replies between Miranda NG on the computer and the original WhatsApp-Application for Android. Also for iOS there should be an API I guess. However, if you do it, please do it in a way that the user can connect the relay on phone to PC, not the other way round, in order to enable usage over WAn/Portforwarding and bypass the mobile network limitations,…

  18. Add in the Matrix protocol for Miranda NG.

Matrix is an open source, decentralized chat protocol. I think that adding this in, natively, will make things easier in the long run in terms of fitting protocols in, because people will be using Matrix in the future.

  20. Add Signal support

    https://signal.org

Signal is an end-to-end encrypted open source chat protocol.
Support for at least the chat portion of this would be fantastic.
