  1. Autorestart for PluginUpdater

after adding silent updates option, i think its time to add an auto-restart option to it.
i can imagine that many people use the silent option now, and most of them get a message to restart miranda to use the updates, at least its so for me.

i use the startup delayer plugin (10 sec.) and in this time, miranda could update and restart itself.

  2. Support for xmpp server chat history

Jabber servers allow to store history on the server.
Extend MNG history functionality to sync with server to pull chats which happened on other devices

  3. Support for OverWolf in-game UI

They already have apps for Skype, Steam, etc.

It would be great to have support for Miranda NG too.

  4. Customizable Facebook news feed with images and comments

Facebook in a browser is becoming a mess. You lose hundreds of megabytes and have a really slow user experience (except if you have the state-of-the-art, highest-end, electricity-hog, pro-gamer computer). There are users who don't want to follow the trend buying new computers and trashing the old one just because developers who maintain websites and browser codebase are too lazy to pay attention to the resource footprint of their code. Miranda could solve this problem (as well as having already solved a lot of this kind of problem with its GREAT Facebook chat plug-in) by running a plugin that would…

  5. Add setting in Contacts-> Ignore: Save ignored messages in History.

It would be convenient to keep ignored messages in History, in order not to miss any important messages.

  6. Support for Lync

Either via Pidgin-sipe or a standalone plugin.
I saw the request on the sipe plugin SF ( http://sourceforge.net/p/sipe/feature-requests/60/ ), but that was a long time ago and there was no progress since then.

  8. Soundpacks

What Miranda, in my opinion, was missing all the time was support for soundpacks. If we could have a preconfigured set of sounds that just needs to be applied or could be changed at any time through Options, this would make it easier to get new sounds in case we get bored with our old sound set. Sometimes, soundpacks creators provided auto-exec files to apply their sets straight away, this was a very rare case though. What is needed in my opinion is standarisation of file names for sounds so that Miranda would always know what sound should be applied…

  9. A plugin for speaking events outloud

Miranda IM offered a few plugins for speech synthesizers to speak most of the events happening in Miranda such as Status changes or incoming messages.
In Miranda NG we had an attempt of somebody adopting the old Winterspeak plugin, but it didn't work all that well and the developer seems to have abandoned his work.
My suggestion would be to go for adopting and further tweaking Pescuma's Mespeak plugin as under Miranda IM this was the most reliable solution.
Apart from being stable and working all the time, the plugin offered Espeak, an opensource speech synthesizer as one of the…

  10. Better accessibility of the contact list for blind and visually impaired users

Currently the state of contact list accessibility in Miranda NG can be described as usable but not ideal. Various features are inaccessible or accessible in a way understandable to some but not straight forward. I have tested all of the available contact list plugins.
The core, classic contact list: inaccessible due to QT being used. I'm not a programmer, but I know there are accessibility libraries that make things nicer especially now that QT 5.3 is out. May be not worth the bother though, read below why.
Clist Modern: reads names of contacts only.
ClistBlind: al information is spoken, but…

  12. Function/plugin for exporting Facebook history to Miranda

I think it should't be so hard to make it.
In Miranda I load the backup file from facebook (whole archive or only messages.html) and Miranda this history convert to own database. But much better would be one click operation. However, even the simplest version of this function would be wonderful.

In development builds there is now contact menu item “Load history”. It loads all the messages from server into your Miranda.

It works pretty well already, but I still have some more ideas for improvement.

  13. Bitmessage support

    https://bitmessage.org/wiki/Main_Page

Bitmessage is a P2P communications protocol used to send encrypted messages to another person or to many subscribers. It is decentralized and trustless, meaning that you need-not inherently trust any entities like root certificate authorities. It uses strong authentication which means that the sender of a message cannot be spoofed, and it aims to hide "non-content" data, like the sender and receiver of messages, from passive eavesdroppers like those running warrantless wiretapping programs

  15. Web/Android client as remote control of Miranda

It should be like HttpServer component for Foobar2000 ( http://code.google.com/p/foo-httpcontrol/ ). This would allow to "have" Miranda on mobile devices (by remote control of running instance of your desktop) or other operating systems or just from any web browser.

It should have rich api for various tasks (get list of accounts, users, change status, history, messages,...) Similar to cmdline plugin.

  17. Miranda Plugin for a free Dynamic DNS service (example: DynDNS.it)

The old Miranda IM has a DynDNS.org support plugin. Now that DynDNS closed the free accounts, I stopped to use it.
It would be nice to have a new plugin for Miranda NG supporting some other Dynamic DNS service, for example DynDNS.it or any other affordable service that provides a free account, or even a plugin that can be configured for various services, if possible.

  18. Miranda generating alternative IRC nicks by it self

    It's all nicely explained here:
    http://forum.miranda-ng.org/index.php?topic=157.0
Basically, Miranda should, like a various other IRC clients, generate alternative nicks automatically by it self instead of letting users to do it manually. Generating should be based on the main "username" (nick) and adding the numbers on it like: Username1 Username2 etc., or [1]Username, [2]Username etc. Once Miranda picked a generated nick, whole that time it should also check main nick availability. When Miranda notice main nick is free to use, it should pick it back again (all automatically).
This will prevent the problem I have very often now:
    I have 2…

  19. Scrolling in the options window

Change the behaviour in the options window in a way that the scrolling will be based on mouse pointer position. For example now, when you are in options->contacts->ignore you're scrolling that part (ignore list) even if your mouse pointer is in the left part (long column with all settings). And maybe also discuss the default behaviour right after opening the options window: (sometimes unintentional) scrolling changes the setting in upper right field (modules) which consequently changes the options window as a whole. I think it's better/more intuitive to scroll left panel by default.
